Vermont is one of the 24 lottery jurisdictions offering Powerball X's and O's from the game's launch. The game has a starting jackpot of $1 million. If nobody matches all eight winning NFL logos, the jackpot can roll over and grow for the following drawing. The game is separate from regular Powerball, despite sharing the Powerball name. Its results are also completely independent of what happens in NFL games.
How to play Powerball X's and O's in Vermont
Each Powerball X's and O's play costs $5. To play, pick eight NFL team logos from the league's 32 teams, or use a Quick Pick to have your selections made automatically. Eight winning teams are randomly selected every Sunday. The jackpot starts at $1 million. Matching all eight teams wins the top prize, but you only need four minimum to win. When picking your teams, NFL results have no effect on the lottery drawing. A team's performance during the season does not make its logo any more or less likely to be selected in Powerball X’s and O’s.
Claiming prizes in Vermont
Prizes up to $499 can be claimed at any Vermont Lottery retailer. Prizes from $500 to $5,000 can be claimed at participating M&T Bank locations in Vermont or through the Vermont Lottery directly. Larger prizes must be claimed at Vermont Lottery Headquarters. Winning tickets can also be submitted by mail — make sure the ticket is signed and all required claimant information is completed before sending. Players have 365 calendar days from the draw date to claim, after which unclaimed prizes are forfeited.
