How to play Powerball X's and O's in Oklahoma
How you pick the logos depends entirely on you. You can pick your favourite teams' logos or choose them completely randomly – use our Powerball X’s and O’s generator if you prefer this approach – or select them partially with one method and partially with the other. Just bear in mind that the performance of a particular NFL team in the league does not impact its chances of being selected.
Claiming prizes in Oklahoma
Claim prizes won from Powerball X's and O's tickets bought in Oklahoma in a variety of ways depending on what you win. Prizes of $600 or less can usually be redeemed at any Oklahoma Lottery retailer. Prizes over $600 generally need to be claimed in person at an Oklahoma Lottery claim center or district office or submitted by mail. If you're making the latter claim you must complete a Winner Claim Form and provide valid government-issued ID (plus your Social Security number for larger prizes). You have 180 days from the date of the drawing to complete your claim.
Procedure for Lost and Damaged Tickets
Because an Oklahoma Lottery ticket is a bearer instrument, whoever holds it can claim the prize — so an unsigned ticket that's lost or stolen could be cashed by someone else, and a damaged ticket may not scan or validate at all. Sign the back of your X's and O's ticket as soon as you buy it and store it somewhere secure until you're ready to claim, since a lost, stolen, or unreadable ticket has no value and forfeits any prize attached to it.
Taxes due on prizes in Oklahoma
Oklahoma Lottery winnings are taxed at both the federal and state level. The IRS requires 24% federal withholding on gambling and lottery winnings over $5,000, and Oklahoma applies its own state income tax withholding on top of that, currently around 4.5%. As with any withholding, this isn't necessarily the winner's total tax liability — the final amount owed depends on the winner's overall income and tax situation for the year and could end up higher (the top federal rate on large windfalls runs up to 37%) or lower once they file.
