The Kentucky Lottery has been offering players the chance to win a million-dollar jackpot in Powerball X's and O's since the game launched in September 2026. Players often pick their favorite teams in this NFL-themed lottery. Will you be picking the Titans, Bengals, both, or neither?
In this game, you need to match four or more out of eight NFL team logos – these are randomly selected in each draw, not based on the teams' performance or anything else. Tickets cost $5 per play. Even if you don't win a prize in the main game, keep your ticket safe, as Powerball X's and O's lets you scan tickets to enter alternative draws.
Tickets for prizes up to $600 can be cashed in at any KY Lottery retailer or claimed by mail. Prizes up to $5,000 can be claimed at KY Lottery Authorized Cashing Agents (stores authorized to cash bigger prizes). Prizes up to $25,000 can be claimed at Super Cashing Agents or at the HQ, and anything bigger than that can only be claimed at the KY Lottery HQ in Louisville. Prizes up to $99,999 can be claimed by mail, too. You can only claim prizes within 180 days of the draw, or else they'll expire. Phew!
If your ticket has been lost, stolen, or damaged, then you probably won't be able to claim any prizes with it. You must be in possession of the ticket, and if it is damaged but still legible, you may be able to claim by mailing it to the KY lottery. Signing your tickets will prevent them from being claimed by anyone but you.
If you've won big in Kentucky, you'll need to pay some taxes on the prize. There's a 24% federal tax on all prizes over $5,000, while the state of Kentucky applies a comparatively low 3.5% tax on prizes over $5,000.
